I have a question. Was the club involved in the temperance movement in McLeod County of the early 1900's?

Rhonda:
Not sure which book you are looking for, but we have the McLeod & Meeker 1888 history book, 1917 McLeod History book, and a 1978 McLeod History book. All of which can be purchased in digital form for $75.00, just contact us. We have hard copies of the 1978 book, but it runs about $100.
Just let me know if you would like any of the mentioned above and we can get it out to you.
Thanks,
Lori

My 3rd great grandparents both died in Sumter - one in 1874 and the other in 1878. I'll be visiting the museum this summer from Alaska and hope to find information about them.

This stuff is so cool. We live right here on Bear Lake and the bricks are still here from the store photo above. The Bear Lake creamery still stands on the property.

This is an excellent project. No one in the future will ever regret saving this historic structure. A group of citizens in Kasson, MN are working to reuse Kasson's 1918 Public School. Perhaps we can learn from the Glencoe project.

Lori,

I am looking for a history book about the early settlers of Glencoe. My relatives are mentioned in this book but I can not find it any where. My ancesters are the Lamberts, Edward, Andrew, were born in Scotland and settled in Mooers, Clinton County NY, bt moved to Glencoe. I knoe Edward worked for the Mcleod Farm and during the indian up rises would go back to NY, and wen things calmed down would come back to Glencoe. I know that they use to winter in Iowa when it was really bad out. Do youo have any information on the book that I seek??

Susan:
That's great that you have these old photos, to often items like that get lost or thrown out. Its even better that you know who and what the photos are of. Many times the Museum receives photos that are unkown and we then have to figure out who and what they are of. Keep up the good work!
