The Museum is excited to once again present the 7th Grade History Projects and Historical Character Presentations!  As a part of their classroom work, the students get to display their work, take a free tour of the Museum, get some extra credit and for six lucky kids, pocket some cash!   Projects can be done by the middle school students on any historical topic and range in scale and design from poster board presentations to 3-dimensional and panoramic pieces.  Although the stories told and the designs vary, they all encourage the exploration of their history and hopefully teach the importance of history in their lives.  Thanks to a donation by Citizens Bank & Trust, two first place, second place and third place projects, judged by a committee of MCHS Board Members, will win a cash prize of $25 for third, $50 for second and $75 for first place winners.

New last year was the addition of the 7th Grade Historical Character Presentations.  This is a another exciting way for students to immerse themselves into the lives of  historical figures and present those lives through acting and public speaking.  Last year we had Bonnie of Bonnie and Clyde and FDR, just to name a few.  This year we will be visited by Malcolm X, Gabby Gabreski, Walt Disney and Alice Paul.  One of these presenters will also win a $75 first prize for the best character portrayal.  So stop by the Museum for a tour of this one time display and attend the Character presentations on Monday, May 16th in the Museum’s Educational Media Center.
